Tremisana Game Lodge, located in the Balule Private Game Reserve, offers an excellent value for budget-conscious travelers who enjoy socializing. The lodge shares an open border with Kruger National Park, allowing for seamless wildlife experiences.

Itineraries:

3 Day / 2 Night Budget Friendly Game Lodge

DAY 1:

We pick up guests from hotels, guesthouses, private homes, or the airport. Then, we travel in an air-conditioned vehicle through the Highveld farmlands to the scenic Lowveld and Tremisana Lodge. Once you arrive, relax in your air-conditioned chalet, take a refreshing dip in the pool, enjoy a drink at the bar, or stroll through the lovely gardens. At 17:00, we head out in an open Landcruiser for an exciting Big Five Sunset Drive. Your experienced guide will lead you on your first thrilling wildlife adventure. Watch the stunning African sunset, and as night falls, we’ll use spotlights to search for nocturnal creatures. Dinner is a traditional Bush Braai at the Marula Tree Boma, deep in the bush. You’ll overnight in comfortable, air-conditioned thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms.

DAY 2:

Today, we drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger National Park. The open-sided vehicle offers an immersive experience. You’ll not only have time to observe wildlife, but also hear and smell the African bush. The elevated position and lack of windows make for perfect photo opportunities. The Orpen/Satara area is home to the highest concentration of animals in the park. Spend the day enjoying fantastic game viewing and bird watching in this wildlife paradise.

DAY 3:

Start the day with an early Sunrise Drive in the open Landcruiser. After a filling breakfast, you’ll have time to buy souvenirs and capture your last photos of the beautiful gardens at Tremisana. Then, we head to the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon to see the Three Rondawels (this is not available for solo travelers). We depart for Gauteng in the late afternoon, with airport drop-off available by arrangement.

DAY 1:

We pick up our guests from hotels, guesthouses, private homes in Gauteng, and Johannesburg Airport. Our journey takes us through the scenic Highveld farmlands to the beautiful subtropical Lowveld, heading to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule Section of Kruger Park. After a short break to relax at the bar, enjoy a swim, or explore the tropical gardens, we board the open Landcruiser for a thrilling 3-hour Sunset Drive. Your guide will introduce you to various animals and birds, and after dark, we use spotlights to spot nocturnal creatures. Dinner will be a traditional Bush Braai in the Marula Tree Boma deep in the bush. You’ll overnight in comfortable, air-conditioned thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms.

DAY 2:

Start your day early with an exciting adventure. We travel to a remote spot for a 4-hour “Walk in the Wild.” Your skilled guides will lead you through the bush at a comfortable pace, searching for the Big Five. The thrill of tracking Africa’s large animals for a close-up photo will stay with you forever. While the adrenaline rush is real, your guides are armed for safety. Afterward, we return to Tremisana for brunch. You can relax in your chalet, swim in the pool, or read wildlife magazines in our Lapa. Visit the game viewing hide overlooking Tremisana Dam. Enjoy a light lunch, then at around 15:30, we head out on a 4-hour game drive in the Balule Big 5 Reserve. Our rangers stay in radio contact to update us on animal movements. We’ll stop for Sundowners in a scenic location, celebrating the beauty of Africa. We return to Tremisana by 19:30.

DAY 3:

We head to the Orpen Gate of Kruger Park, where we board our open Game Viewer. With no windows and an elevated position, you’ll have amazing photo opportunities. Experience not just game viewing, but also the sounds and smells of the African bush. We’ll make regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps, and notable locations. Your ranger will point out various animals and birds in this wildlife haven. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi areas are home to vast open plains with large herds of zebra, giraffe, and antelope, which attract many predators. This region also boasts the highest lion concentration in Africa.

DAY 4:

Rise early for a Sunrise Drive in the open Landcruiser. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll have time to shop for souvenirs and take your final photos of the lush gardens at Tremisana. We then drive to the spectacular Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon (Note: not available for solo travelers). In the late afternoon, we return to Gauteng, with an airport drop-off available upon request.

The excitement of being close to Africa’s wildlife is unforgettable. While adrenaline runs high, rest assured that your rangers are well-armed for safety. Afterward, we return to Tremisana for brunch. You can relax in your air-conditioned chalet, swim, or enjoy wildlife magazines in the Lapa Lounge. A light lunch will be served, and at around 15:30, we depart for a 4-hour game drive in the Balule Big Five Game Reserve. We’ll stop for Sundowners and take in the beauty of the African landscape. Our rangers stay in constant contact to track animal movements. We return to Tremisana by 19:30.

DAY 3:

We travel to the Orpen Gate of Kruger Park in a custom-built open-sided Game Viewer. This open-air experience allows you to view game without the interference of glass windows and to fully immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the bush. We’ll make regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps, and points of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi region is known for its vast open plains, home to large herds of zebra, giraffe, and antelope. These attract many predators, and this area is renowned for having the highest lion concentration in Africa.

DAY 4:

This morning, we visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, where injured and orphaned animals and birds are cared for. You’ll have a chance to get up close with some of the centre’s residents, including lions and leopards. Afterward, we return to Tremisana Lodge for a light lunch. In the afternoon, we head out on a 3-hour game drive in Balule Game Reserve.

DAY 5:

We start early with a Sunrise Drive. After breakfast, we drive along the Panorama Route, enjoying stunning views, including the Three Rondawels and Blyde River Canyon (Note: this tour is not available for solo travelers). In the late afternoon, we head back to Gauteng. Airport drop-offs are available upon request.

The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi region is known for its open plains, where large herds of zebra, giraffe, and antelope attract numerous predators. This area is famous for having the highest concentration of lions in Africa.

DAY 4:

After breakfast, we visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. Here, you’ll learn about the important work done to rehabilitate injured and orphaned animals. You’ll get a close look at some of the residents, including lions and leopards. This visit will deepen your understanding of wildlife conservation. Afterward, we return to Tremisana for a light lunch. At around 15:00, we embark on a 3-hour game drive in Balule Game Reserve. We return to Tremisana for dinner and another overnight stay.

DAY 5:

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the renowned Kruger National Park, home to diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes.

DAY 6:

Start your day with a Sunrise Drive. After breakfast, we drive along the Panorama Route to see breathtaking views, including the Three Rondawels and Blyde Canyon. We return to Gauteng in the late afternoon. Airport drop-off is available upon request.

At 17:00, we go on another Sunset Drive and enjoy a delicious Bush BBQ at the Marula Tree Boma.

DAY 6:

Enjoy another full day of game viewing in Kruger National Park, where you’ll continue to explore its incredible wildlife and diverse landscapes.

DAY 7:

Rise early for a Sunrise Drive. After breakfast, we head to the Panorama Route to witness the breathtaking views, including the Three Rondawels and Blyde River Canyon. We return to Gauteng in the late afternoon, with airport drop-off available by arrangement.
